“Return to Form” Gallery and Group Drop

Proposal Title: “Return to Form” Gallery and Group Drop

Author: 0xJoe on behalf of Burrito DAO

Date: Oct. 3rd

Abstract

This proposal is to support the Burrito Group drop on Rarible by providing funding for a Gallery event In a Major US City, Either Philadelphia or NYC. The Gallery will exhibit all of the works from participating Artists who list their work on Rarible during our Group drop.

Motivation

Burrito DAO has successfully facilitated multiple group drops, Multiple in person gallery events across the US, and we want to do our next Group drop on Rarible.

A Group Drop is when a curator coordinates and communicates with anywhere from 5 to 50 or more artists to all list their artwork on the same platform with a shared theme and a shared method of sale.

The goal is to create a moment in time to celebrate all of the artists participating and to help each artist’s audience cross pollinate with one another.

Our hope is that hosting a group drop on Rarible will inspire others to coordinate in the same way with Rarible. We also hope to bring attention to Rari DAO and how artists can benefit from the DAO. We want to increase the ammount of Artists who consider the upside of being able to utilize the Rari DAO when considering which platform to use for their future collections and drops.

Roles and responsibilities

Curation, I am in the midst of reaching out 1 on 1 to over 50 artists to participate in the group drop.

Coordinate with all the artists so they’re on the same page and can commit to their responsibility of providing artwork.

I’m currently corresponding with team members from the Rarible team and the Shape team in order to have multiple organizations promoting the drop.

Promotional materials will be created by Burrito and shared with Rarible, Shape, and Manifold.

Securing a Venue, I will leverage venue owners I’ve worked with in the past to try and get a favorable deal for the Venue. Either in Manhattan or Philadelphia.

Formatting the Artwork for Screens.

By the end of the First week of October We’ll have all the quotes for venues we’ll be considering. We’ve already requested a quote from Station 3. I will be getting a quote from the Oculus 3.0 in The World Trade Center as well.

We’ll be exploring additional funding opportunities to help improve the event.

By November 1st We’ll be expecting Artwork to be finalized.

The Event and Rarible drop will occur before December 1st.

I’m a huge fan of digital art myself and having a Rarible Drop combine with the art being displayed in a gallery in a major US city would be a great benefit for everyone participating in this.

Love to see “Partnerships”.

I believe this is a fair and affordable ask, I do not have any problems with it.

Thank you, @0xJoe for this proposal. @forexus and @jarisjames wouldn’t this be more appropriate to be considered under the Creator Fund program?

This proposal does not fit in the Rarible Creator Fund Program.
Burrito DAO asks for some funding to organise a gallery event resulting in art being displayed in a major US city and a group drop on Rarible.
If you have any questions they will be able to answer it during the upcoming governance call.

Thank you so much, @forexus for clarifying that, appreciate your help and clarification.

@0xJoe , thank you again for bringing this proposal to the DAO for consideration. There are some points that I see as missing that will provide us a better understanding of what you’re trying to accomplish. If you can make it to our Oct 7th Governance call to present your proposal to the DAO, that would be ideal. I’ve tagged @Anria from the Foundation, in case you would like to be added to the agenda.

Here’s what I really like about your proposal:

  • I like the multi partnership approach to make a bigger impact and that you’ve held multiple events in the past.
  • I checked out your website (https://burrito.gallery/) and Burrito DAO would be a great partner for the DAO. I really like your mission and purpose.
  • Sounds like you’re already engaged with artists to participate in this drop, and you’re just looking for a third partner.

I do have some questions to help me understand your proposal better:

  • Budget: While the budget is very reasonable, I would like to see the quotes that you mentioned that you’ll have early October for either the Oculus 3.0 or Station 3. Also, the budget doesn’t include any promotion/marketing costs, will there be promotions other than signage?

  • You mentioned that you have already successfully completed multiple group drops across several galley events in the US. When I checked your website, the last events you have posted were from 2023, do you have any other links to events you completed in 2025, and success metrics accomplished? Past Events | Burrito

  • The proposal mentions creating and sharing promotional materials, but it is missing key details on how your group will drive attendance and NFT sales. Specifically:

  • What is the target attendee and ideal target attendance numbers for the gallery?
  • What media outlets (local or crypto-focused) will be targeted for press?
  • What specific promotional activities (e.g., social media campaigns, paid ads, artist outreach quotas) will be executed by Burrito DAO?
  • Do you expect marketing support from RARI, and if so, what type?
  • The $500 compensation is bundled for four major roles: Curation, Artist Coordination, Event coordination, and Grant Writing. While the total amount is modest, there is no breakdown of how this small sum is allocated across these critical, labor-intensive tasks. This lack of detail makes it difficult to audit or evaluate the effort being put in. Can you provide some more details here?

  • In your proposal, you mention that this group drop will be on Rariable, will this be on Rarible FUN and will the token used be $RARI? And who are you already working with at Rariable?

  • And finally your proposal clearly states its goals (inspire others, increase attention), but it offers no concrete, measurable ways to track success for both you and the DAO. Specifically: The proposal needs to define KPIs to measure success, for example, you could include:

    • Drop/Sales: Target volume or revenue for the Group Drop (e.g., “aim for $X in primary sales”)
    • Rarible Engagement: Target number of new artists onboarded to Rarible or a metric tracking DAO community sign-ups/participation during the event window
    • Event Attendance: Minimum guaranteed in-person attendance

The main promotion will be to our audience of attendees to our previous events, our Twitter, and discord audiences. For Example we will start of the RSVP by inviting every RSVP we had during the NFT NYC Event. So upon completion of the RSVP We will have invited the nearly 400 attendees who RSVP to our last event.

We have spoke with Jonathan Colón from Rarible to help us promote the drop and event from Rarible’s socials. Jonathan will also be helping me ask for additional promotional support from Shape and Manifold. I have already spoken about the idea to Pravijn at Shape. Pravjin, Jonathan, and I have already posted teasers alluding to working together. A core part of the stratedgy to promote the drop on Rarible is to have it featured as a launch partner during the launch of Rarible.fun on Shape.

  • The proposal mentions creating and sharing promotional materials, but it is missing key details on how your group will drive attendance and NFT sales. Specifically:

  • What is the target attendee and ideal target attendance numbers for the gallery?
The goal is 100 attendees due to it being outside of a larger conference.

  • What media outlets (local or crypto-focused) will be targeted for press?
Shape, Rarible, Manifold, as stated above.

  • What specific promotional activities (e.g., social media campaigns, paid ads, artist outreach quotas) will
    be executed by Burrito DAO?

We will host at least 2 promotional Spaces to speak about the group drop process and to give each
artist a chance to speak about their artwork and how it relates back to the theme.

  • Do you expect marketing support from RARI, and if so, what type?

No expectation of support on the Rari Foundation side for marketing, only the Rarible platform side.

I am leading all administrative work for the event and the Art drop. Previous grants i’ve written and previous events I’ve ran did not budget for compensation. Adding in compensation to a grant is new to me. Additional guidance on how I should structure compensation into the grant would be greatly appreciated. I figured to start with something low and to name my key responsibilities.

To elaborate further I have personally invited 50 artists via direct out reach based on my own taste and recommendations from trusted Artists and Collectors.

For Artist Coordination I have created a group chat that currently has 33 artists who have committed to participating in the drop so far. I will be creating the minter contract and documentation on how to Mint on Shape via our Manifold contract and list on Rarible.

Event coordination means I’m the one speaking, negotiating, and requesting quotes from venue owners. As of now the Quote I have is for 3k from The Canvas 3.0. I’m asking if it’s possible to have a DAO member check the venue before the event and waiting for a response.

I’ve also written the Grant contacted Rarible and Delegates like Forexus which is the work and responsibilities I account for under the title Grant Writer, as well as replying to these questions.

  • In your proposal, you mention that this group drop will be on Rariable, will this be on Rarible FUN and will the token used be $RARI? And who are you already working with at Rariable?

Rarible.fun, and the artwork will be listed in Ethereum due to both Artist and Collector pricing conventions

I’m Happy to share estimates, but it should be known that these are things I cannot ensure.
My conservative target is for cumulative sales to total over 1 ETH

100% of the artists minting will be using Rarible on Shape for the first time since we’re aiming to be launch partners.

My conservative Minimum RSVP estimate would be 50.

I’d also estimate at least 10% of the Artists in the drop will go on to try and leverage the creator fund or Rarible DAO to empower their Artwork.
One of my biggest goals is to have Artists consider the ability to work with the DAO or apply to the creator fund when they’re deciding which platform to list ther artwork on in the future.

Solid concept and great initiative to bring artists and collectors together through an IRL gallery and coordinated group drop on Rarible. It’s the kind of community-driven activation that adds visibility at a minimal cost. I like that you’re already coordinating artists, connecting them directly to our platform, and building on Burrito DAO’s proven track record.

This proposal feels well thought out and clearly aligned with Rarible’s creative vision and community values. The concept is strong, the partnerships with Rarible, Shape, and Manifold make perfect sense, and the coordination already seems well underway. The budget also feels modest and realistic for the scope of the event.

The DAO naturally benefits from greater visibility and artist engagement around Rarible.fun, so I’m supportive of this initiative. Just one small suggestion; it would be great to share a short post-event recap afterward (photos, attendance, results) so the DAO can celebrate the impact and capture any key learnings.

Thank you so much @0xJoe for the additional information and I love that your proposal is so very well thought out, love all the extra details, that helped me a lot! I would also add the KPI’s (which are totally OK they are conservative estimates) to your proposal and @Kaf_StableLab suggestion of adding a requirement of adding a short post event post on forum. With these changes, I am in support of moving this proposal to Tally for a vote. You’ll need a delegate sponsor who has 5K or greater voting power to publish it on Tally. Great proposal, and I look forward to voting for it!
