Problem / Opportunity:
We are currently a 25 people team with Robin Schmidt at the helm. Robin has been the “face of” the Defiant as well as its Head of Media from its inception. At BasedAF, we have successfully minted and sold out a 10,000 nft collection called the BasedHeads, with a total of 2854 ETH in volume.
Our vision is to build a next-generation media brand that not only entertains but empowers its fans to thrive in a world increasingly dominated by technology. We believe in the transformative power of stories and the role of storytellers in shaping the vision, values and agenda of the generation to come.
To that end we created a transmedia story-world called Trashland that serves as a metaphor for the incipient Metaverse — rough round the edges, frontier-like, mostly deserted but rich in possibility.
The vast majority of Trashland, beyond a digital space in which these stories live, it’s for it to be the space where our IP thrives. DGAF being one of our 6 core IP products, is the focus of this proposal. DGAF is a lifestyle brand where the lifestyle is very much based around not giving a fuck. It’s VapourWear militia/ riot/ sports-casual collection drops are strictly allow list only and fetch eye-watering prices on the secondary market.

Use of Funds:
The funds will be used for the following purposes:

Development and design of the NFT drop and associated smart contract: We will need to develop a smart contract that will govern the creation, sale, and distribution of the NFTs. We will also need to design the visual components of the NFT, including any accompanying art, music, or other media.

Production of the limited edition jackets: We will need to manufacture a limited number of physical jackets that will be made available for purchase exclusively to DGAF NFT holders.

Marketing and promotion of the NFT drop and jacket sale: We will need to develop a marketing strategy that will generate interest and excitement around the NFT drop and jacket sale. This may involve social media campaigns, influencer marketing, and other promotional activities.

Operational expenses, including legal and accounting fees: We will need to cover various operational expenses associated with the project, including legal and accounting fees.
Business Model:
Our business model is simple. We’re running a time-limited NFT sale for 6/7 days. Each NFT costs $200. We’re giving “sixers” the first 48 for free. BasedHeads holders will get a 50% discount during the next 48 hours After that, the remaining time frame will be open to the public at full price until the sale ends. To redeem, The NFTs have to be burned on our website to be able to receive the DGAF jacket.

Accountability
Our project will attend weekly community calls, and provide updates on our milestones as we make progress. In the event that we can’t fulfill our commitment, funds will be returned to Rarible DAO. We will also work with community members to ensure updates are distributed through the Rarible communication channels.

The aim is to mesh and mix BasedAF’s community with Rarible’s and vice versa, driving engagement and retention on the Rarible platform. By creating an exclusive sale for the NFT holders, we will encourage them to remain active on the platform and engage with other members of the community.
