TL;DR
- There is currently no working way to convert RARI into veRARI because the docs link is broken and Tally doesn’t support this flow.
- A delegator attempted to delegate a significant amount of tokens to me and was still unable to complete the process after several attempts.
- This blocks new delegates, hurts karma scores, and makes it impossible to participate in RARI v1 governance even though key proposals still run there.
To delegate on RARI v1, holders must first convert their RARI into veRARI. However, when going through the official RARI docs (screenshot below), there is no working method to achieve this. The link provided leads to an error page. This mechanism is also not available via the Tally interface. As a result, there is effectively no functioning way for users to convert RARI into veRARI - yet veRARI is the only token type that can be delegated on RARI v1.
I am flagging this because a delegator reached out intending to delegate a significant amount of tokens to me on both RARI v1 and v2, but was unable to do so on v1. It’s worth noting that this delegation would have qualified me for the voting-power threshold under the current delegate program. We tried different approaches, checked every link, refreshed multiple times, and still couldn’t find a single working method to delegate on RARI v1.
This is quite problematic because important proposals (e.g., RRC-53, RRC-51) still run on v1, and new delegates are effectively unable to participate in these decisions. Missing these votes also affects karma scores, which makes it even harder to grow as a delegate or qualify for incentives.
I’m sharing this because it seems like a fixable issue that is unintentionally blocking new delegates from participating meaningfully in RARI governance. Addressing this would go a long way toward ensuring that new delegates are not shut out before they even begin.
